Dawei Lin

Dr. Dawei Lin is the Associate Director for Bioinformatics and the Senior Advisor to the Director of Division of Allergy, Immunology and Transplantation, NIAID, NIH. Prior to coming to NIH, Dr. Lin was the founding Director of the Bioinformatics Core at the Genome Center, University of California, Davis. Before that, he played a key role in the modernization and operation of the Protein Data Bank (PDB) at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Dr. Lin is widely recognized for his contributions to various "Big Data" initiatives. Dr. Lin received his Ph.D. at Peking University, Beijing, China.

Abizar Lakdawalla

Abizar is part of an angel group for genomics & health apps. He is starting a liquid biopsy company & is an advisor for a 3rd gen sequencing tech. Previously, as Sr Director/Thermo Fisher, he led infectious disease, reproductive health & ctDNA applications.

At Illumina for 7 yrs, he defined NGS systems & novel applications such as single cell, epigenomics & protein interactions. At Applied Biosystems, he led a technology incubator. At BioGenex, as Technology Director, he led development of IHC & ISH products.

He has a PhD in Mol. Genetics (BGSU, Ohio) & a Post-Doc in transgenics (UC Berkeley).
